But du cours

Objective 1. To gain basic knowledge of the organization of life in order to understand the impacts on living organisms caused by the Anthropocene and the methods used to measure them (including LCA).

Objective 2. To understand the One Health/Global Health concept (a case study on glyphosate).

Acquis d'apprentissage visés

  • Identify the main impacts on living organisms linked to the Anthropocene
  • Understand the measurements that can be used to assess the impact of these impacts and those that can or cannot be included in an LCA
  • Understand the concept of global health and be able to relate it to the development of human activities
  • Be able to break down living systems at different scales (principle of abstraction)
  • Understand the current issue of glyphosate: from its mechanism of action as a herbicide to its human toxicity and environmental impact.

Programme

Links between human health (diseases of society) and the 4 axes of the global health tree:

  1. food and water security
  2. climate change and air and water quality
  3. biodiversity of ecosystems (direct resources, pandemics, pharmaceutical resources...)
  4. non-quantifiable aspects (cultural, religious, ethical)
